A Fresh Start ~ New Year Promises ~ Bible Verses

A Fresh Start ~ New Year Promises ~ Bible Verses

Another year has almost come to an end. Soon, that ball will drop in New York City and the clock will strike twelve ringing as if to give us hope in new beginnings. It will be a new year, a new day, and a new morning. And guess what?!?! God himself desires to bless and restore you with a fresh start (Jeremiah 29:11). That's right, the one who sits on the throne makes all things new (Revelation 21:5).

We are told to forget the former things (Isaiah 43:18). So, give God all of the failures, bad decisions, excuses, disappointments, uncontrollable circumstances, heartaches, regrets, and struggles from your past. When we put our trust in Christ, the old will pass away and we will be renewed (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Isaiah 44:22
I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist;return to me, for I have redeemed you.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Psalm 103:12

John 15:5

Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Revelation 21:5
And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Lamentations 3:22-23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Ephesians 1:7
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,

Isaiah 43:18-19
“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Ephesians 4:23-24
and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Ephesians 4:22-24
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;  to be made new in the attitude of your minds;  and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
